General description:

Our markagrip standard anti-slip tape is suitable for a variety of applications. Made from fine grade aluminium oxide, it is flexible, hard wearing and designed to withstand everyday wear and tear. The grit used on the tape is a medium anti-slip abrasive coating. The quality standard of markagrip is very high and it is an excellent product for meeting anti-slip requirements, offering excellent grip. It is also water resistant when applied to a non-porous surface and can be used indoors or outdoors too.

Applications – The markagrip Standard product is used for many different general applications, making it suitable for use in commercial or residential environments. The standard anti-slip tape can be used for slip protection on steps or to cover an entire walkway. To achieve the maximum lifespan of your anti-slip tape, we recommend that you use the markacleaner, edgefix and Primer products.

Sizes: Our Standard stock sizes available online are 25mm, 50mm, 100mm, and 150mm width rolls which are all 18.3 meters in length.

Colours: Black, Brown, Fluorescent Yellow, Green, Grey, Orange, Red, White, Yellow, Blue, Transparent.

However, markagrip can be supplied in any width from 19mm up to 1168mm (widths of between 10mm to 18mm available on special request) in 18.3 meter rolls or 100 meter on request. If you are interested in a non-stock size or shape simply get in contact with us for a quote via our online forms, or over the phone. Please be aware a minimum order quantity may apply.

Custom Anti Slip Tape: Aside from our off the shelf products, dependent on order quantity, we can supply markagrip Standard in a wide range of sizes, shapes and colours (matching Pantone or RAL reference).

1. Material Storage

The material should be stored in a warm, dry conditions in the original protective packaging to prolong its lifespan

2. Surface Preparation

As with all anti-slip products, the surface should be clean and dry. Ideally an IPA cleaner should be used to remove all surface contaminants such as paint flakes. Do not under any circumstances use petrol, lighter fluid or methylated spirits to complete this process because they leave behind a thin, greasy residue. The prepared surface should be above 10°C.

3. Porous Surface Sealing

Before application, any porous surfaces should be sealed to prevent water attacking the adhesive. Ideally you should apply Toluene based primers. Apply a thin coat to the clean surface using a paint brush and then leave to dry

4. Tape Application

Peel back part of the release liner and then press firmly onto the prepared surface, gradually peeling back the liner as you apply the tape. Make sure that the tape is not too taut.

5. Finish

Once the tape has been applied, press the tape down firmly using even pressure (a decorating roller is perfect for this task). The edges should be sealed using the edge fix to extend the lifespan of the product. A small amount should be applied in a thin bead along the edges of the tape and allow to dry. If it has been correctly applied and edge fix has not been used, the new anti-slip surface can be walked on immediately, but you will achieve maximum benefit from the adhesive system after 48 hours.
